A little Ballard High School history

Central School, 1905

Ballard High School serves the communities of Ballard and Magnolia. Ballard High School got its start in the fall of 1901, when the Ballard School District added grades eleven and twelve to the already existing Central School, creating the first four-year high school in the Ballard area. The very small school, soon to be known as Ballard High School, was located at 5308 Tallman Ave. Ballard High School moved to its current location in 1915.

History of the Foundation

The Ballard High School Foundation was founded in 1997 by C. David Hughbanks ’54, and Dick Lee ’61, along with then-Beaver principal Chuck Chinn, the same year as the groundbreaking of the new school building.

Since its inception The Foundation has provided countless hours of support and raised almost $10 million for the school.
