The future of the Ballard High School Foundation depends on the support of people like you who are committed to helping us to support the students, faculty and administration of Ballard High School and enrich the school’s programs and activities so that Ballard High School will be a world-class learning center for the benefit of the Seattle Community
Additional program requires flexible funding
In order to fund great programs like GAINS, we provide a great deal of support to other programs and infrastructure at Ballard High School. The General Fund allows us to provide non-designated support for things like the greenhouse, marching band uniforms, improved football helmets, and a new theater sound system.
It does take some resources to keep this foundation going
The General Fund is intended to record all assets and liabilities that are not assigned to a special purpose, or restricted fund, such as GAINS. It provides the resources necessary to sustain the day-to-day activities and thus for all administrative and operating expenses of the Ballard High School Foundation. The General Fund provides the working capital that funds an executive director, day-to-day operational costs such as database software and office supplies, and provides flexibility for us to fund other work and programs in support our mission
The bottom line is that it takes some portion of your dollars to just keep this Foundation running. We do our very best to keep these costs to a minimum, but technology, supplies, and postage are not cheap.
