Proud Support for Athletics and Music programs

Ballard High School teams play in the highly competitive 3A Metro Conference. Funding provided by the Seattle School District primarily covers some team transportation costs. Individual teams receive no funding for their programs from Seattle Public Schools, rather they are left to literally fend for themselves. More than 850 athletes participate on 30 different teams in 23 sports!

In turn, the award-winning Ballard Performing Arts Department features a thriving and inclusive band, orchestra, choir, and theatre program. More than 300 students are involved in various music ensembles and music and theatre classes. Beyond the director position salaries, the Music and Theatre Programs receive no District Funds.

This is why the Foundation’s annual summer fundraising events, like the Victor Salvino Golf Classic, are an essential lifeline for these important activities.
