Camden M. Hall graduated from Ballard High School in 1958 and went on to a distinguished law career.

Camden M. Hall grew up in Seattle’s Blue Ridge neighborhood. His senior year at Ballard High he was elected Student Body President from 1957-58. He graduated from the University of Washington and was Student Body President from 1961-62. In 1965, he received his law degree from the University Of Washington School Of Law and clerked for State Supreme Court Justice, Orris Hamilton in the Court’s 1965-66 term.
In 1966 he became the 11th attorney with the Seattle law firm, Foster Pepper & Shefelman, PLLC—now a 140+ attorney firm with 5 offices nation wide. He started his legal career in criminal law and later moved into civil law. In addition to specializing in business, family and media law issues, Hall has significant experience in appeals, class actions, constitutional law, alternative dispute resolution and international litigation. Among other work, he represented the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the City of Seattle, the Seattle School District in all of its early desegregation and state funding litigation, and in vindicating the rights of Japanese American citizens wrongfully imprisoned during World War II.
In 2002 he founded his own practice, Camden Hall, PLLC. His practice concentrates on complex business litigation, family and media law, alternative dispute resolution and appellate work.
In 1997 Hall was honored with the UW Alumni Service Award for his work as a UW Board of Trustees 1988-95 and as President of the UW Law School Alumni Association 1991-93. He was recognized in 2000 as a “WA Law & Politics Super Lawyer” and from 2001 to present as one of “The Best Lawyers in America.” He also received the Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating.
Hall served as the second Ballard High School Foundation President from 1998-2001, leading the BHS Foundation in raising over $750,000 for academic and extracurricular programs to benefit Ballard students and faculty. He received the Foundation’s Captain William R. Ballard award in 2000 for his exceptional contribution to Ballard High School.
He chaired the Washington State Gambling Commission from 1972-75 and served as a Trustee for the Pacific Northwest Ballet from 1980-86. He is a long-time active member of the King County Bar Association and has served as Chair of the Judiciary & Courts Committee, a member of the Family Law Section and earlier as a member of the Judicial Evaluation Committee. Hall is not only an outstanding attorney, but he also generously gives back to the community.
