Steve Wilson ’60
A 1960 Ballard High School graduate, Steve was a standout All City, All State, and All American basketball player. He was also team captain and inspirational winner.

Steve Wilson has excelled as an educator and athlete. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1964 and was a varsity basketball player for three years, earning All-Coast honors, and was the team captain. He also officiated in the NCAA, NIT, and NAIA post season college basketball tournaments. Steve also held offices in various athletic organizations.
As an educator for forty-two years, Steve has been a superintendent and principal of various high schools and middle schools. Before retiring, he was the Chief Academic Officer of the Seattle School District.
Besides the University of Washington, Steve graduated from Seattle University with a Master of Education degree. He received his Superintendent Certificate from the University of Washington.
While Steve was Principal at Seattle’s Ingraham High School, the school gained national prominence as one of the best high schools in the United States.
Steve has received numerous professional awards including the Women’s Educational Network Award and Martin Luther King Jr. Outstanding Contributions Award for three different years.
